Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms are an agreement between you and Make Industry LLC, a Montana limited liability company that operates HourMill. By using HourMill, you accept these terms.
Agreement and eligibility
You must be 18 or older. If you use HourMill for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
These terms cover the HourMill website, web app and AI assistant connections, and any mobile apps we offer in the future. HourMill is currently a web app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
The service
HourMill tracks time for people and their AI agents, organizes clients and projects, and provides reports, comparisons and CSV exports. Time records reflect the information people and assistants provide, not an independent measurement of work.
HourMill is free during early access, and features may change or be discontinued. If we introduce paid plans, we will give advance notice and will not charge you unless you agree to a paid plan.
Accounts
Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials and sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for activity on your account and should tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
Organizations, admins and invitations
Admins invite people by email, manage membership and organization settings, and set rates. Admins are responsible for who they add and the access they give. Do not join a team or provide another person's information without authority to do so.
AI assistants and connected agents
You are responsible for assistants you connect, the permissions you grant and entries they create, including human time created through Track my time. Review those records before relying on them.
You can revoke access in Settings at any time. Revocation stops future access but does not erase past entries or copies already received by another service. Connection labels identify the recorded source; a verified callback label is not an endorsement of the assistant or a guarantee that its entries are accurate.
Your content
You or your organization own the data you provide. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process and display it only to provide, secure and support HourMill, including making it available to authorized members and connections. You must have permission to provide it.
Keep your own copies of records you need. CSV export is available for completed human time, but it is not a complete backup of your account or organization. Make Industry LLC and its licensors retain their rights in HourMill's software and branding.
Acceptable use
Do not use HourMill for illegal activity, fraud, harassment or abuse. Do not upload malicious content, scrape the service, reverse engineer it except where applicable law allows, attempt unauthorized access, bypass protections or interfere with its operation. Do not submit content that violates another person's rights.
Rates and amounts
Amounts are calculations based on the rates and times users enter. HourMill is not invoicing, payroll, tax or accounting software and does not give financial, legal or tax advice. Verify records and amounts before relying on them or using them in other tools.
Third-party services and trademarks
Services you use alongside HourMill, such as Linear, Claude and ChatGPT, have their own terms and privacy policies. HourMill stores issue references but does not promise a native synchronization with those services. We do not control third-party availability or conduct.
Claude, ChatGPT, Linear and other third-party names are trademarks of their respective owners. HourMill is not affiliated with or endorsed by those providers.
Termination
You can stop using HourMill at any time and request account closure or deletion through the contact form below. The Privacy Policy explains retention and possible limits on deleting organization records.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or when reasonably needed for security or legal reasons. We may also discontinue the service. We will give notice where required by law. Provisions that need to continue, including ownership and liability terms, survive termination.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HourMill is provided "as is" and "as available," without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free records or that information will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Make Industry LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business interruption arising from HourMill.
Our total liability for claims relating to HourMill is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100. These limits do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or take away mandatory consumer or other statutory rights.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover third-party claims, damages and reasonable costs that arise from your content or misuse of HourMill, including reasonable legal fees. This does not require you to cover claims caused by our own unlawful conduct.
Governing law and disputes
Montana law governs these terms, without its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory rights under applicable law, disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Gallatin County, Montana, and you and Make Industry LLC agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
Changes
We will update the date above and give notice of material changes by email or in the app. Continuing to use HourMill after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service. We will seek separate agreement where required by law.
